About Us

CTextGen is a free, browser-based tool for turning plain text into cursed, glitched, and Zalgo-style Unicode text. It’s built for people who want their Discord bio, TikTok caption, Instagram post, or gaming profile to stand out with something a little unsettling, chaotic, or strange, without needing design software, a special font, or a “cursed keyboard.”

Why we built it

Most cursed text tools online are either paywalled, cluttered with intrusive ads, or limited to a single preset style. We wanted something different: a generator that gives you real control, adjustable intensity, 70+ Unicode styles, 50+ thematic presets, and instant Light, Medium, and Extreme output side by side, so you can actually fine-tune the result instead of settling for whatever a single button gives you.

How it works

CTextGen runs entirely in your browser. When you type text into the generator, JavaScript on the page combines your characters with Unicode combining marks locally; nothing is sent to a server, logged, or stored. Closing the tab clears everything. You can read more about the Unicode mechanics behind cursed and Zalgo text on our homepage and blog.

What we stand for

No accounts, no gatekeeping. Every feature is free and available without signing up; no manipulation of your text. We don’t alter, store, or transmit anything you type; it’s processed client-side and stays on your device. Standards-respecting. We build strictly on the official Unicode specification for combining characters; nothing proprietary, no custom fonts, no plugins required to view the output anywhere Unicode is supported: practical guidance, not just a tool. Our blog covers how cursed text actually works, where it does and doesn’t work well (accessibility, character limits, platform quirks), so you can use it responsibly.
